A beginner-friendly printable study sheet for UTG, MP, CO, BTN, SB, and BB preflop discipline.

All Study Sheets

Open-Range Reminder

  • UTG: start tight with strong pairs, strong Ax, suited broadways, and a few high-quality suited connectors.
  • MP: add a little width, but keep dominated offsuit hands under control.
  • CO: begin stealing blinds, while respecting an active button.
  • BTN: open widest because position helps you realize equity.
  • SB: remember that cheap does not mean easy; you often play out of position.
  • BB: defend by opener position, not by price alone.

Before You Enter the Pot

  • What position am I in?
  • Who has already raised or called?
  • Will this hand make strong top pair, strong draws, or dominated one-pair spots?
  • If I face a 3-bet, do I know my continue plan?

Common Beginner Leak

  • Playing weak Ax from early position.
  • Calling 3-bets just to see a flop.
  • Treating suited trash as automatically playable.
  • Ignoring the players still left to act.

How to Train This Sheet

  • Run 10 Range Trainer decisions after reading the matrix.
  • Write down every hand you wanted to play but folded.
  • Compare missed hands against the matrix before changing your range.
  • Use Progress to identify whether your leak is too loose, too tight, or position-blind.
